ABOUT

WHY BODY MATTERS

When I began studying Christian sexual ethics in the early 2000s, I did not foresee how the topics of human sexuality and gender identity would dominate Christian conversations in the years to come. Since then, I’ve watched many Christians struggle to make sense of the complex questions that these topics raise.

At times we Christians have responded by drawing sharp lines – “us vs. them” lines that divide the body of Christ and hurt people. Other times we’ve responded by distancing ourselves from beliefs that clash with changing cultural values. Most often, we’ve neglected to engage humbly with those who differ from us.

I started Body Matters to help Christian communities respond to sexual ethics questions in a better way - a way that equips us to think Biblically and love graciously.

If you believe that what you do with your body matters and how you treat those in the body matters, then please reach out to learn more. I would be honored to partner with you.
